Privacy Policy

What we collect
The story details you submit to create your song (occasion, names, memories), your email address, order and payment status (payments are processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers), and standard analytics data (pages visited, device type) via cookies including the Meta Pixel. We also record session replays (clicks, scrolling and how pages are used) to improve the site; names, lyrics and anything you type are masked and never appear in a recording.
How we use it
To generate and deliver your personalized song, send you order emails, provide support, and measure our advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
Data deletion
To delete your data (including submitted stories and generated songs), email privacy@lifeinasong.com from the address used at checkout with the subject “Delete my data”. We will confirm deletion within 30 days. Instructions for Facebook and Instagram comments and messages: lifeinasong.com/data-deletion.
Third parties
Stripe (payments), music-generation API providers (receive only the song brief, never your email), Meta (advertising measurement, and Facebook and Instagram, which carry the comments and messages you exchange with us), PostHog (session replays and product analytics), hosting providers.
Facebook and Instagram comments and messages
When you comment on one of our Facebook or Instagram posts or ads, or send us a message there, Meta sends us: the ID Meta assigns to your account for our page, your username or name, the text of your comment or message, which post or ad it was on, and when you sent it, along with related activity Meta reports to us, such as reactions or read receipts. We use it to reply to you in a private message with the song from that post and, when we offer one, a personal discount code, and to answer your questions about a song or an order. When we reply, we also keep the message we sent you, whether its links were opened, and whether the code was used for an order. We do not sell this data. Meta processes these comments and messages under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep comment and message records, and the replies we sent, until you ask us to delete them (see Data deletion); they are not deleted automatically. A personal discount code sent in a message is valid for 24 hours after we send it; a code that was used stays linked to the order it paid for.
